Utilized Applications

The Social Science Research Center uses state-of-the-art research and evaluation equipment. These tools and applications aid in the delivery of all forms of research methods and data collection for each facet of research implementation, data gathering, data entry, data extrapolation, and reporting.

Caller Assisted Telephone Interviewing (CATI) - Used for telephone surveys, CATI utilizes a Windows application by Voxco, Inc. which allows for quick access to surveys and phone numbers. In the past, The SSRC has handled both local and national surveys using CATI, which allows for rapid data entry, accurate data storage, and minimizes the probability of errors.

SPSS - Statistical software system for data management, analysis, tabulations, reporting and deployment. Much of our quantitative reporting, including CATI information, is accomplished using SPSS.

Teleform - Utilized presently for mail surveys, Teleform is a forms processing and document summary application. It allows us to collect, validate and store information using scanners, fax servers and the Internet.

Inquisite - Utilized to program, administer and report on web-based survey efforts.
