On behalf of the entire Old Dominion Model United Nations Society, allow me to extend our warmest invitation to you and your students to the 33rd Annual Old Dominion University Model United Nations Conference! We hope to see your school at the Norfolk Sheraton, February 10-13, 2010. We in the MUN Society promise another year of stimulating debate, in-depth topics and prestigious councils at the oldest and—as delegates continually tell us—the most fun UN simulation on the East Coast. We are honored to ensure the 2010 conference raises the bar yet again.
We were so impressed with students’ performance and professionalism that the entire officer corps dove into planning for 2010 with resounding enthusiasm. We are planning exciting changes, most notably our brand new Historical Joint Cabinet Crisis simulations. These follow the MUN crisis tradition by offering dueling US and USSR cabinets of 1961-62. Delegates will play members of the Kennedy or Khrushchev cabinets, debating action for crises—all while trying to navigate around the opposing American Cabinet or Soviet Politburo!
This year we also will offer more pre-conference training. We can come to your school or welcome your club to ODU. Look to our website for more details on this and other innovations to our other ODUMUNC offerings.
Enclosed you will find everything needed to register for the 2010 conference. Registration and payment procedures are unchanged from last time. New procedures are under consideration for the year after, after they have been discussed at the conference. Register online at www.odu.edu/mun, by mail or fax. Send your registration as soon as possible to insure your top country selections.
