In the early 1960s the superpower rivalry of the Cold War reached a peak of danger and unpredictability. A series of crises brought the world repeatedly to the edge of nuclear annilation. American and Soviet decision-makers confronted each other repeatedly in Berlin, Cuba, at sea, and in the skies over the Baltic and Artic. In this historic simulation, American and Soviet leaders work separately in their own capitals, communicating with each other through diplomats, the media and secret backchannels as they navigate the enormous risks and opportunities of bi-polar confrontation.
