Nancy Minguez
Ms. Mínguez is a Senior Lecturer of Spanish and the Coordinator of the first and second year Spanish language programs. She supervises and schedules all classes at the 100-200 levels and designs and implements the curriculum and selects the textbooks for the first and second- year programs in Spanish. She has lived and worked in Spain and visits as frequently as possible. Her interests include linguistics, especially phonology, second language acquisition and teaching methodologies,. She is constantly digging to discover how students best learn a second language . She has published a workbook, "Conquering the Spanish Verb System: The yo Connection" with Wiley, designed to help students "manage" the numerous verbs in the Spanish language and their many irregularities. She teaches all levels of language courses along with conversation and writing courses for majors and minors. She also is focused on Spanish culture and history and occasionally teaches courses in this area. When she is not involved in professional activities, she especially enjoys and enthusiastically supports the arts.
