Minor in Spanish

You must have completed Eng 111 to declare a Minor.
Contact Dr. Martha Daas ( mdaas@odu.edu) to declare a Spanish Minor.

Requirements for a Minor in Spanish: 5 courses at the 300 - 400 level. (15 credit hours). Note that at least two of the five courses must be taken at ODU. And, study abroad courses are highly encouraged and will usually count toward the minor.

The following sequence and courses are recommended:
1) SPAN 311 - conversation (offered Fall, Spring, and sometimes Summer)

2) SPAN 312 - grammar and composition (offered Fall and Spring)

3) One or both of the following:
SPAN 320 - Spanish civilization (offered Spring only)
SPAN 321 - Latin American civilization (offered Fall only)

4) One or two of the following:
SPAN 331 - Introduction to Spanish Literature: El Cid to Cervantes
SPAN 332 - Introduction to Spanish Literature: 1700-Present
SPAN 333 - Introduction to Early Latin American Literature
SPAN 334 - Introduction to Modern Latin American Literature
SPAN 400- Any elective
