Dale E. Miller, Ph.D.
Dale E. Miller is an Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at Old Dominion University, where he has taught since 1999. He has a Ph.D. in Philosophy and an M.A. in Economics from the University of Pittsburgh. His research deals primarily with moral theory and political philosophy, with a particular emphasis on the work of John Stuart Mill. He is currently working on a book on Mill under contract to Polity Press. He has taught a variety of courses at ODU, including Business Ethics, Computer Ethics, Political Ethics, Foundations of Ethics, Social-Political Philosophy, Philosophy of Law, Philosophy of Work, a seminar on Mill, and a topics course titled War, Terror, and Patriotism.
Yvette E. Pearson, Ph.D.
Yvette E. Pearson is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at Old Dominion University, where she has taught since 2002. She earned her Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Miami. Her area of research interest is bioethics, particularly the myriad moral issues surrounding human reproduction, whether it is done via assisted reproductive technology or the old-fashioned way. Dr. Pearson has been teaching bioethics and other applied ethics courses for undergraduates for the past 10 years and occasionally teaches graduate-level applied ethics courses as well. She is also the Senior Associate Editor for the Journal of Philosophy, Science, and the Law.
