Virginia Political Science Association 2009
The 2009 annual meeting of Virginia Political Science Association will be held on Saturday 21 November 2009 in Norfolk, Virginia. This year's conference is co-sponsored by the Department of Political Science and Geography and the Graduate Program in International Studies (GPIS) at Old Dominion University in Norfolk. We are delighted to be hosting this year's event, following the impressive work last year by Maerek Payerhin at Lynchburg College. We are working to insure this year's event is the largest and most diverse in memory.
Virginia-based political scientists and scholars of public policy, their colleagues elsewhere, are encouraged to join us. The VPSA conference is the Commonwealth’s leading opportunity for professional networking and collaboration. We especially encourage those of you who have not participated in VPSA meetings recent years, interested in learning more about the work of your colleagues at near-by institutions, and introducing your own research to your neighboring audience. The conference particularly welcome graduate student presentations.
The conference emphasizes community-building for Virginia political scientists, analysts and graduate students. Panels will cover the full spectrum of subfields in political science:
- Virginia politics
- American
- Comparative
- International relations
- Methods
- Political theory
- State and local
