Beyza Unal is a second year PhD student in the Graduate Program of International Studies. She is from Turkey and was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship for her PhD coursework. Before ODU, she worked as a Research Assistant from 2007-2010 at Bilkent University. She holds a Master's degree in International Relations with the focus on security studies from the same university. She has been awarded the Erasmus Scholarship in 2005 by the European Commission and has studied one semester in Bremen Universität, Germany, as an exchange student. Beyza knows Turkish, English, and German. At ODU, her concentration area is Conflict and Cooperation and Interdependence and Transnationalism. She is interested in International Relations Theory, Middle East, and Turkish Foreign Policy.
