Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), a Graduate School of Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, is a leading research and teaching institution in strategic and international affairs and policy-oriented think-tank in the Asia-Pacific region. The School invites applications for the position of:
Associate Professor or Assistant Professor
in the following specialization:
International Political Economy
Applicants are expected to have a research interest in the economic aspects of regionalism in East and Southeast Asia who could join the school's Multilateralism and Regionalism and International Political Economy Programmes. He or she should also have an interest in Finance and be able to teach an introductory quantitative methods course in the School's Master of Science Programme.
Successful applicants will teach up to two courses in the School's Master of Science Programmes. A relevant PhD and a good publication record are therefore essential requirements. Applicants are also expected to contribute to the School's research agenda, contribute to team research and policy-oriented projects, teach in short executive programmes, and organize conferences and seminars. Experience in policy-relevant research and publication would be useful. Additional research funding may be available through the policy-oriented think tank functions of Centres and Programmes within the School.
The successful applicant is to commence preferably in July 2012, if not by October 2012. The initial appointment will be for three years, which is renewable, subject to mutual agreement. A candidate with the appropriate qualifications and experience may be appointed at the Associate Professor level.

The Department of International Relations at the University of Sussex invites applications for a Lectureship in Global Political Economy to join a vibrant, critically-oriented cluster of GPE scholars. We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual with interests in any area of the field, but with the ability to make a strong contribution to the teaching of theoretical approaches. You should have completed, or be close to completing, a PhD, and should be in a position to participate in the University's REF submission.
Grade: Lecturer A or B.
Role Description:
Lecturer A is a first career-grade teaching and research position. Post-holders will be expected to teach in a developing capacity, establish an independent research portfolio, including publication and making applications for research funding.
Lecturer B is a career-grade teaching and research position. Post-holders will be expected to take full responsibility for the design, management and delivery of their own teaching, be able to demonstrate an established research portfolio, and a growing reputation in their field of study. They will also be expected to provide support and guidance to less experienced members of staff.
