Advisory Board

The Advisory Group is composed of individuals from Old Dominion University and the Filipino American communities in Hampton Roads. They represent interest areas that are critical in achieving the objectives of the Filipino American Center. The members are expected to:

  • Act as liaisons to develop positive community and university relationships;
  • Give feedback regarding the directions and strategies as needed; 
  • Be available to provide the Director advice on matters pertaining the Filipino American Center.
  • Attend regular and occasional meetings to review updates, plans and progress, assist in formulating strategies, and give critical feedback and recommendations; 
  • Assist in fundraising guidance, suggestions and activities;
  • Attend special events sponsored by the Filipino American Center;
     

Honorary Advisory Board

The Honorary Advisory Board is composed of distinguished individuals from across the USA and from the Philippines. They represent a broad spectrum of interest areas, such as the academe, finance, publishing, the professions, community etc. Honorary Board Members will have no formal obligations or responsibilities, but are expected to:

  • Agree with the objectives of the Filipino American Center.
  • Allow their names to be used on letterhead and other promotional and fundraising materials.

In return they can suggest to the Director the ways of improving the presentation and delivery of the Center's programs and of establishing strategies for growth. They may be consulted on key changes relating to the objectives the Center and will advise the Director on ways to promote the national image and prominence of Old Dominion University's Filipino American Center.
