Welcome
The
Old Dominion University Community Music Academy, established in 1984,
offers the finest level of private music instruction, classes, and
ensembles for people of all ages and abilities. Our instructors hold
degrees in music and specialize in the instruments they teach.
Students may participate in Community Music Academy recitals held in
the Chandler Recital Hall at the end of each semester. All lessons are
taught on campus in the Diehn Fine and Performing Arts Center, 49th
Street and Elkhorn Avenue.

Kindermusik is an early
childhood music and movement program based on the beliefs that every
child is musical, every parent is the child's most important teacher,
the home is the most important place for learning to take root and
grow, and that based on research, music nurtures a child cognitive,
emotional, social, language and physical development.

exciting season of The Virginia Opera. This experience will provide an
in-depth look at each production including a backstage tour and
attendance to two rehearsals per production. Also included will be
