Application Procedures
Students interested in applying for the 5 year BA/MAIS program should consult with the director of the BAIS program at the end of their freshman year, or for transfer students, on completion of at least one semester at ODU.They should apply in their junior year on completion of 60 hours or during the semester in which they will complete 60 hours.
Requirements for admission to the program include:
A declared major in BAIS.
A minimum of 60 credit hours completed, including at least six hours of 300/400 level courses in the major.
An overall GPA of 3.0 and a GPA of 3.0 in the major.
A completed application submitted by the appropriate deadline.
Permission of the directors of the BAIS and GPIS programs.
Applications
Students who feel that they meet these requirements should submit an application to the BAIS director.The application will include:
1)application form obtained from the BAIS director.
2)two recommendation letters, preferably from faculty at ODU who are teaching courses included in the BAIS program.
3)a clean copy of an undergraduate research paper.
All materials must be submitted in hard copy.Electronic applications cannot be accepted.
The deadline for applications for admission for the Fall semester is April 1.The deadline for applications for admission for the Spring semester is November 1.Applications should be submitted by the deadline to:

Admission decisions will be announced by the director of BAIS by May 1 for students wishing to enter in the Fall and by December 1 for students wishing to enter in the Spring.
On admission to the MAIS component of the program, students will be required to schedule an advising appointment with the associate director of GPIS.Students accepted into the BAIS/MAIS program will need to make official application to the MAIS program on completion of the BAIS portion of their studies.
