Jeremy Landman on Graphic Design lecture at the Baron and Ellin Gordon Art Galleries  

 New York freelance graphic designer Jeremy Landman will give a lecture on Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. in the Lobby of the Baron and Ellin Gordon Art Galleries.  Specializing in motion graphic design, Landman will report on the current state of his ever-evolving and optimistic project to create a formally engaging, intellectually challenging, emotionally nourishing, and financially viable graphic design practice. He will discuss his experiences as a graphic designer specializing in motion graphics and some of the exciting avenues open to graphic designers focusing on the ones he has taken. The lecture will include some of his commercial motion graphics projects as well as several self-initiated projects including: explorations of pattern in motion, investigations of the pixel as material, and the creation of custom visual tools. The program will conclude with a brief question and answer period.

Changing Gallery
The full time and adjunct faculty of the Department of art will again present their of recent work in a new exhibition.  Faculty members have achieved national recognition for their scholarly and creative work. Their fields of expertise include art and architectural history, art education, and such studio areas as drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, graphic design, sculpture, fibers, clay, and metalsmithing.

On the road at the water's edge: an installation by Michael x. Ryan

Ryan's work is influenced by hidden histories, the traces that remain of actions, often missed, and presented to be deciphered. From the puddles left after a shower, the forgotten movements of a day's travel or random stains on a sidewalk to the remains of an impact crater hidden in layers of sediment- each is mapped, diagrammed and documented to reveal its trace.
