The Big Print Show

Organized by ODU's own Clay McGlamory, this show is dedicated to artists working with extremely large prints. The show includes work by Mike Houston and Martin Mazorra of Cannonball Press and Dennis McNett of Howling Print Studio, both from Brooklyn, and Sean Star Wars from St. Louis. All four artists work prolifically with relief prints, primarily woodcuts. Many of their prints are large, in some cases up to 24 feet wide. Some works included in the show involve collaged installations and three dimensional constructions. The works represented in The Big Print Show are a sampling of current works from these four artists. They are a small example of a few large works that indicate one of the most powerful directions in contemporary printmaking.
